“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”

Who We Are

My name is Melissa Peters, and I’m a credentialed elementary school teacher with over 25 years of classroom and home-based teaching experience. After working in public, private, and charter schools—and also choosing to teach my own children at home—I have found that smaller class sizes allow me to provide the individual attention and support each child needs for a positive and successful learning experience.

Valley Marigold is my neighborhood-based microschool for elementary-aged children.

Whether you are looking for a personalized full-time private education for your child, or you are a homeschooler looking for supplemental tutoring to provide some diversity in your child’s routine, I’m here to help!

About the Name

When my husband and I bought our first home, my love of gardening began. I learned about pests, pollinators, soil, and companion planting. I quickly learned to plant marigolds in my gardens for both beauty and purpose. Marigolds repel the harmful and bad, and attract the beneficial and good. Every bright ruffly petal is attached to a seed that has the potential to propel its influence for growth, strength, and beauty in the garden.
